Victory Gardens Theater announces Tanuja Jagernauth as the 2019 Marcelle McVay Management Fellow for 2019. Victory Gardens Next Generation Fellowships provide comprehensive mentorship, requisite training, and experience for these future leaders of color, preparing them to helm arts institutions or departments on the national and local level. The 2019 Macelle McVay Management Fellowship is made possible by support from the Weiss Grosshandler Charitable Fund.

At 83, the Second City founding member, Tony-award winning performer, and Oscar-nominated actor Barbara Harris passed away on August 21st of this year. Under the direction of Alex Beck (Disney's The Happiest Millionaire 50th Anniversary) and the music direction of Andy Roninson (Take a Ten Podcast), The Green Room 42  presented an evening of song and remembrance with 'Gorgeous: A Barbara Harris Tribute' on October 2nd.

Ben Rimalower will celebrate the recent release of his plays PATTI ISSUES and BAD WITH MONEY by Roven Records on Audible.com with a special performance BAD WITH MONEY at The Green Room 42 on Saturday, August 18 and a double bill of PATTI ISSUES and BAD WITH MONEY at Penguin Rep on Sunday, August 19. In Patti Issues, Rimalower explores the ways his lifelong obsession (and eventual working friendship) with Patti LuPone helped him navigate a tumultuous relationship with his volatile father. Since premiering in 2012, Patti Issues has garnered a tremendous amount of great press and word-of-mouth from attendees such as Tony Kushner, Alan Cumming, Laurie Metcalf and Ms. LuPone herself, who said, "The show's fantastic. It's really wonderful. I was moved." Patti Issues is directed by Aaron Mark (Empanada Loca with Daphne Rubin-Vega, Squeamish With Alison Fraser).

The flyers on the seats at Barrington Stage Company's St Germain Stage were from a 1995 college appearance by William Kunstler, They said in bold letters 'BOYCOTT - Kunstler is a sellout and a hypocrite His defense of Traiters; Terrorists; and Rapists is an insult to the causes for what which he once stood.' Well, these flyers were correct about Jeff McCarthy in Kunstler being a 'sell out' (audience-wise) at Barrington Stage with his brilliant portrayal of the famed defense lawyer.
