Open Auditions: The Long Road Today / El Largo Camino de Hoy, Part of Dialogue/Diálogos Project
South Coast Repertory’s Dialogue/Diálogos project will hold auditions/ tryouts for the new Santa Ana-based play, The Long Road Today / El Largo Camino de Hoy. About the play, The Long Roady Today / El Largo Camino de Hoy
With no park in his neighborhood, Andrés plays ball in the street. One day, he chases a stray ball into tragedy. Two families and a community must confront the aftermath and take action to make a change. This bilingual play celebrates a diverse community that will stop at nothing to build a city of hope, safety and beauty.
The Long Road Today / El Largo Camino de Hoy is based on true stories of nearly 1,000 Santa Ana residents, as part of South Coast Repertory’s Dialogue/Diálogos project, in partnership with Latino Health Access. Dialogue/Diálogos is a two-year theatre initiative with the community of Santa Ana that is funded by a grant from The James Irvine Foundation. The play—to be presented in Santa Ana in September—will include live actors, puppetry, dance and live original music.
Tryouts/auditions are open to everyone
You do not have to have theatre or acting experience in order to audition. The best quality to bring is a desire to participate and share the experience of live theatre. Spanish and English speakers of all ages are welcome to audition. Training will be provided for both on-stage and off-stage roles. Roles being cast include actors, singers, dancers and musicians. Appointment not necessary.
