Please come prepared with a headshot and resume, stapled together. Audition will consist of cold readings from the script, provided at the audition.

Visually impaired performers may request an advance copy of sides when making an audition appointment.

Meter parking available on the street, or in the lot across from the theater. No need to feed the parking meters after 5pm

Breakdown

The Small Room at the Top of the Stairs by Carole Frechette. Director: Robyne Parrish. First rehearsal: September 22, 2014. Runs Oct. 17 – Nov. 1, 2014 (10 performances).

Grace finds herself irresistibly drawn to the mysterious room her husband has forbidden her to enter. She stumbled into a fairy-tale marriage complete with her own Prince Charming and resplendent mansion, but it could all come apart if she chooses to defy his wishes. Can Grace resist temptation, and other’s voices ringing in her ears, or will she let her curiosity get the best of her and confront the secrets of the man she loves?

Character breakdown:

Grace: Female, early 30’s. Note: This role has been cast. Those auditioning will be considered for possible understudy.

Joyce: Female, mid-50’s to 60’s. Grace’s mother. Self-suffering, pushy.

Anne: Female, mid to late 30’s. Grace’s older sister. No-nonsense, somewhat arrogant.

Henry: Male, mid-40’s to 50’s. Note: This role has been cast. Those auditioning will be considered for possible understudy.

Jenny: Female, 30’s-50’s. Henry’s maid. Fiercely loyal.
