Elaina is an aspiring poet and non-fiction writer who has spent most of her life with her nose in a book. She is a Minnesota native and a recent graduate of Beloit College in southern Wisconsin where she majored in Psychology and Creative Writing. She has six years of experience editing and designing literary magazines and recently completed a travel novella as well as a short collection of poems. She was awarded White-Howells Poetry Prize from Beloit College in 2012 as well as honorable mention for the Stocking Prize in Non-Fiction. Elaina currently lives and works in Minneapolis.

Circus Juventas, a non-profit circus school for youth in the Twin Cities, puts on seasonal shows for the public. This summer their performance was SHOWDOWN. It was a goofy, whimsical, death-defying production under their very own big top. For those of you who haven't been to a circus lately you may think of it only as juggling, popcorn and creepy face paint. Not so!

On June 9th The Guthrie Theater premiered ROMAN HOLIDAY, a musical rendition of the classic Audrey Hepburn film. The plot features a frustrated and bored Princess Anne escaping her regimented advisors for some fun on the town during an international diplomatic tour. The princess meets a dashing silver fox of a newspaperman who takes her out in the city of love. However, the kindly Joe Bradley is also covertly planning to print a newspaper exclusive on their shenanigans. Of course, dastardly conflict arises the two realize that they've actually taken a liking to one another. If only real love were so dependable.

Well known for its physical comedy and colorful music, Blue Man Group has been garnering good reviews since its inception in 1991. It's no surprise that the audience is cheering before the boys in blue even set foot on the stage. With a strong emphasis on audience participation, Blue Man Group has audience members standing, sitting, yelling, dancing, and helping out with a few acts that you'll have to see for yourself.
