The Theatre Lab of Dramatic Arts has a mission of transforming lives through theatre. Every year they raise money to support programs which help accomplish this task. This year Sutton Foster and her agent Jen Lamy decided to get involved and help them raise more money than ever before. They donated an original painting by Sutton Foster the scholarship funding.

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), today announced programming for the 2014 BAM Winter/Spring Season, which runs fromJanuary 7 through June 29 and features nine theater, opera, film, and dance productions.
Songwriter Tori Amos and playwright Samuel Adamson teamed up with director Marianne Elliot to bring a new musical to the stage. After five years, The Light Princess has come to the National Theatre. The musical opened last night, Oct 9, starring Rosalie Craig as Princess Athea. The Light Princess also stars Amy Booth-Steel as Piper, Nick Hendrix as Prince Digby, David Langham as Flowers, Hal Fowler as King Ignacio, Ben Thompson as Zephyrus, and Kane Oliver Parry as Llewelyn. The Light Princess was designed by Rae Smith, who also desgined War Horse.

Salford tenor Russell Watson is said to be soon taking on the role of Jean Valjean. In discussing the part with the Evening Standard, Watson stated, 'I went to see Cameron Mackintosh about doing LES MISERABLES. We've had a good chat about that. It's something I'd like to do. It would give me a huge amount of satisfaction to play a role like Valjean. I would do it in the West End, towards the end of 2014.'
On the evening of Today, October 4, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will prove that all that glitters is, in fact, gold, during its 18th Annual Broadway Ball, presented by Devon Energy, at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel. The gala event, themed 'One Singular Sensation,' will feature decor dripping in gold, Lyric actors performing rousing numbers from the musical A CHORUS LINE and both a live and silent auction. The evening will be the capstone celebration of Lyric's 50th Anniversary and the theatre's largest fundraising event of the year. The Broadway Ball is chaired by Debbie Nauser and co-chaired by Aimee Harlow.
Louise Pitre's latest accomplishment is the completion of her one-woman show 'On the Rocks- Stirred Not Shaken.' Her show is an autobiographical musical detailing her life thus far- both the ups and the downs. Pitre, with the help of W. Joseph Matheson, wrote original songs for the show. 'On the Rocks' will run from tonight, September 25-28 at Theatre Passe Murialle.
During a U.N. GA Summit reception at the Waldorf Astoria, Dule Hill and fellow cast members of AFTER MIDNIGHT performed for President Obama and the First Lady. The cast performed 'I've Got the World on a String,' 'Devil in the Deep Blue Sea,' and 'Creole Love Call.' Hill sung the first of these.
