SteppingStone Theatre has always made it part of their mission to foster the best local talent through commissioning new plays and music for their productions, many of which go on to be published and/or produced around the country. This production features local talents Christina Ham and Gary Rue.
Playwright Christina Ham. Christina Ham's plays have been produced both nationally and internationally at the Center Theater Group, Goodman Theater, Guthrie Theater, Penumbra Theatre, the SPF Summer Play Festival, SteppingStone Theatre, and the Tokyo International Arts Festival, among others. Christina is the recipient of a McKnight Advancement Grant, a Jerome Fellowship from the Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis, the Marianne Murphy Women & Philanthropy Award in Playwriting, and a 2006 MacDowell Residency. She is a two time nominee for the Cherry Lane Theatre Mentorship Program, a nominee for the L. Arnold Weissberger Award, and nominated for the Center Theater Group's Richard E. Sherwood Award for Distinguished Emerging Theater Artist.
Composer Gary Rue. Gary has been involved in many original SteppingStone productions, including The Stinky Cheese Man, Pinocchio, The Story of Hope, and Rainbow Crow. Gary has been composer and songwriter for many artists, including The Honeydogs, Helen Reddy, Nick Lowe, Butch Thompson, Laura MacKenzie, Maria Jette, The Rose Ensemble, Leslie Ball, Dan Chouinard, Bradley Greenwald, Christina Baldwin, and many others. He is the founder of the internationally acclaimed pop quartet RUE NOUVEAU, and has created and co-created more than 70 theater musicals with over 2000 performances worldwide. Gary is also the composer (and vocalist) for many local and national commercials. He is a local songwriting clinician and lecturer and is the Composition and Music Theater Faculty Member at McNally Smith College of Music, St Paul, MN.

All performances are in SteppingStone Theatre's new home, a beautifully renovated 100-year-old architectural gem located at 55 Victoria Street North, one block north of Summit Avenue in the Historic Hill District of St. Paul. Performances are appropriate for all ages. SteppingStone Theatre is fully-accessible to persons with disabilities, and has regularly-scheduled ASL & Audio Described performances. Interpreters can be scheduled for other performances at no additional cost upon request.
