POWER BALLADZ Plays Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, 9/28 & 29

For a rockin' hot evening of fun, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) presents a new fall concert offering with POWER BALLADZ playing on The Fireside stage for a limited two-night engagement tonight, September 28 and Saturday, September 29.

Since April of 2012 CDT has presented a highly successful series of tribute concerts (Rumours and Dreams – An Evening With Fleetwood Mac, and Takin' It To The Limit – An Eagles Tribute). And now, CDT adds a new tribute concert event to its list, POWER BALLADZ – the Ultimate 80s Singalong! Unleash your inner rock star with POWER BALLADZ - 90 minutes of wicked rock featuring killer voices and wicked guitar solos!

Do you remember what song was playing when you had your first kiss? What about your first slow dance? Chances are it was a power ballad –those songs that double as a soundtrack to your life. These are the anthems that will make you want to throw a lighter in the air and sing at the top of your lungs! Audience members will be encouraged to sing along if they choose, or simply reminisce back to the days of their youth – ahhh the 80s! POWER BALLADZ is a loving tribute to the heyday of the hair band, when Aqua Net ruled and MTV played videos and predates the show to which it is most commonly compared to today, Rock of Ages.

Rock out to 80s power bands including: Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Queen, Styx, Journey, Heart, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Poison and many others. They will perform an array of hits including: "Sister Christian," "Faithfully," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Dream On," "Alone," "We Are The Champions," "Freebird" and many more.

Created by Mike Todaro and Dan Nycklemoe with Peter Rothstein in 2002, POWER BALLADZ was performed in 2002 at Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis with Todaro and Nycklemoe playing the leads. POWER BALLADZ started as a live performance featuring a mixture of comedy, trivia and music, and began its initial theatrical run at the LAB Theatre in Minneapolis and celebrated its New York debut on August 5, 2010. POWER BALLADZ as performed at Chanhassen will be a concertized version of the original Off-Broadway production.

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres' president, Michael Brindisi stated, "These concerts have been welcome additions to our offered repertoire of entertainment. We love that people are starting to think of Chanhassen as the place to turn for many different forms of entertainment from concerts to comedy cabaret to pub to nightclub dance parties and dinner theatre. These concerts also continue to draw in a younger audience demographic and we welcome that as well."

POWER BALLADZ tickets are $40 per person. A dinner option is available for just $15 per person. Performance time is 8pm. (Dinner seating at 6pm) Bar offerings are available at additional cost in the theatre, in the Hogarth Lounge or in the new BRINDISI'S PUB located next to the theatre.
