Chanhassen Dinner Theatres presents the local band, SOUL TIGHT COMMITTEE, in concert on The Club stage on Friday, February 17 at 9:30p.m. SOUL TIGHT COMMITTEE features singer Michelle Carter who played “Mary Magdalene” in Chanhassen’s acclaimed production of Jesus Christ Superstar last year.
SOUL TIGHT COMMITTEE is a ten-piece band whose members have found a common love for old-school ‘70s R & B and dance music. The band’s mission is to provide listeners with the very best soul and dance music of that decade in a lively engaging show. They’ve been performing and thrilling audiences at night clubs, festivals, weddings and corporate functions in the greater metro area dating back to 1991. SOUL TIGHT COMMITTEE has been nominated for numerous Minnesota Music Awards and was named, “Best Cover Band” in 2001. The band has also been noted many times in the Star Tribune, City Pages, Saint Paul Pioneer Press and Rolling Stone magazine and called, “Godfathers (and Mothers!) of Soul” and “One of the top R & B/Funk bands in the Upper Midwest.”
Ticket holders are invited to dance along as SOUL TIGHT COMMITTEE performs well-known hits including: “Ain’t No Woman (Four Tops),” “Boogie Wonderland (Earth, Wind & Fire),” “At Last (Etta James),” “I Wish (Stevie Wonder),” “Jive Talking (The Bee Gees),” “I’ll Be Around (The Spinners),” “Lady Marmalade (Patti LaBelle),” “Rock With You (Michael Jackson),” “That’s The Way of the World (K.C. & The Sunshine Band),” “You’ve Got the Best of My Love (The Emotions)” and dozens more.
Chanhassen Dinner Theatres President Michael Brindisi stated, “This is a first time concert effort under CDT’s new ownership team. We are thrilled to offer people this really incredible soul music experience without having to drive downtown.”
